Manwhich Returns
[2008-03-01]
What a crazy couple of weeks: a funeral, a play about a funeral, another video, and computer issues to drive a man insane. I'd won't talk about the funeral here, since Page of Bob is hardly an appropriate venue for such things, so I'll instead start with the play:
I was asked to play guitar in the DSU production of Dearly Departed, a play about a
southern family coming together for a funeral, on March 6th, 7th, and
8th. I agreed assuming that I'd basically be providing some backup strumming.
Somehow this turned into a choir part, with two sections where I'm singing and playing entirely
by myself. So if you're bored Thursday through Saturday, around 7:30PM, come on down to
the Dakota Prairie Playhouse and watch me forget the words to Will the Circle be Unbroken!
The play is pretty funny and I'm having a great time being in it. I think you'd have a great time
just watching it. It's $7.00 for adults (I think), and free DSU kids with ID (I think).
As for the computer issues, where to begin? First, the fan on my videocard died, leading to
overheating and other issues, so I swapped it out for a Nvidia card I bought at Goodwill for $5.00,
which went on to prove the old addage: you get what you pay for. Then my DVD burner died for no
particular reason. Then my keyboard tray fell out of the desk. Even now, I'm typing
this update with the keyboard sitting in my lap. The final insult came when I booted my machine
and my projects
drive was gone. It's back now (I switched it to a different IDE channel),
but for how long, nobody knows.
I'm pretty sure my IDE controller is possessed. It once made a hard drive start randomly beeping. That hard drive is still randomly beeping to this day. I have no idea why.
Isn't technology grand? Finally, I pulled out an old favorite video and added it to the video section. This time it's a music video, Manwhich. I'd describe it here, but there's plenty of description on its page. So check it out.
