This short was the result of a panicked effort to create something new for the Drama Club Film Festival, and as such was shot and edited over the course of two days, with the final rendering being completed the morning of the deadline, about 3:30AM. Unfortunately, the rush shows. What you're watching is basically a rough cut. There are many errors; I plan on fixing none of them.
A few interesting things some of the more astute viewers might notice:
- In some group shots, a single earbud can be seen dangling from a clone's ear. This is what I did to keep post timeshifting to a minimum. On my ever-trusty MP3 player, I recorded a quick audio-only take of me just reading all the lines, and then listened to that on each take of the individual clones. This saved tons of time in post, and I spent almost no time timeshifting time. Time.
- The clones were composited by painstakingly hand-masking each one out and compositing on one layer. This was a miserable process, and I definitely see a bluescreen or a difference matte in my future.
- There is a copy of The Princess Bride sitting on the television in Bob's first bedroom. Apparently, he is a fan.
- Best Subtly Awesome Effect of the Short that You Probably Didn't Notice: In the drug scene, two characters interact with the same Acne Medicine bottle. The transition from one's interaction to the other is seemless. Tada!
- N* = Newsbleep. Check it out.
- In the Rock Your Friends to Death scene, all the characters are really playing, and sound you hear is really their instruments. Aside from the close-ups, nothing is faked or synced.
- The cellphone's ring tone is Manwhich. Unfortunately, that's not actually my ring-tone.
- In the final night-shot scene, the shorts I'm wearing are actually black (not white), and
my shirt says
Bobilicious
, but the words are almost invisible. IR light is crazy! - This is yet another video in which the
Bobilicious
shirt makes an appearance. Others include Manwhich and Lost Bob Interviews. You mother-farting idiot.
Oh shove it up your bass-pole, you coke-smoking frog turd.
You bastion!
